“Nothing is really work unless you would rather be doing something else” J.M. Barrie
Work is defined as:
Activity involving mental of physical effort done in order to achieve a result.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate throughout my life to have work that has stimulated and interested me.
Yet there have been some ‘jobs’ that I’ve done where the hours seemed to stretch into infinity; a bricklayer’s labourer; a night watchman; and a stone picker were all forms of work which ‘stopped the clock’.
All this came back to me last week when I was challenged by a client to sum up the ‘big idea’ behind Ceannas. My client is a very successful Chief Executive and has become a close personal friend – and, in keeping with such a close relationship, she was entitled to push back on the challenge I was presenting to her own leadership role.
